Duties of Single Window Operator and Head Cashier - II in Bank.




As in our earlier article we have clearly explained about the duties and nature of work of Single Window Operator A Grade, in this article we are herewith providing you the scope of work of Single Window Operator Grade - B and Head Cashier - II.




Duties of Single Window Operator (SWO-B) :




In addition to the duties of Single Window Operator Grade - A, the following are the duties which have to be followed by the Single Window Operator Grade - B :


  1. The work include Passing and cash payment of all cheques/ withdrawal forms/ bankers’ cheques/ gift cheques, etc. up to and including Rs. 20,000/-

  2. Receipts of cash and issuance of pre-signed drafts/ gift cheques/ travellers’ cheques/ pay order/ bank orders, etc. upto and including Rs. 25,000/-

  3. Passing independently clearing and transfer cheques, vouchers, etc. (whether credits or debits) up to and including Rs. 25,000/-

Duties of Head Cashier II (HC II) in Banking sector :


In addition to the duties of Clerk an Head Cashier II has to involve himself for holding bank cash, Key and other valuables in his custody jointly with an officer and being accountable for them and being responsible for the running of the cash department:
  1. Attending Treasury work of Government;

  2. Verification of vernacular endorsements / signatures;

  3. Opinion Compilation;

  4. Discharging/endorsing bills, cheques, etc.;

  5. Countersigning cheques and/or drafts (on selves or correspondence), payment orders, deposit reaccepts, etc.

  6. Taking charge of Clearing and godown departments, etc.;

  7. Passing independently clearing and transfer cheques, vouchers, etc. (whether credits or debits) upto and including Rs. 50,000/- and cash vouchers up to Rs. 50,000/- jointly with an authorized person.
